Confederate Flag BAN

This is another straw on the camel's back on the road to Civil war again IMO. This is true Irony here
The constitution being shredded again to pacify one group of people. It does fall under the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. How can pornography be free speech and the Confederate flag not. They need to get a better lawyer stick together and arm up. Get loud and proud and that spineless SOB that issued that ruling tared and feathered. What next outlaw the Forth of July and the Gadsden cause it might offed some Brit's or Liberal's.
This is like saying the Six Flag's over Texas is offensive.
This is part of our history and heritage like it or not.
Next Cinco de Mayo all Mexican flag's are outlawed.

If I lived there I would run the Star's and Bar's up the pole and sit in the front yard playing Dixie.

Enough is Enough just wait next they say the Gadsden flag is offense by another group.

Who give's a flying rat's ass if you are offended, I haven't found that article in the constitution yet.

Thank's Sky I haven't been up an hour and you have already given me a case of the RED ASS to start the day.

:???: And in Germany they should really allow the Nazi flag to be displayed as well...

What does the Nazi flag in German have to do with the right's in the USA.

Only a far left thinking person could even come up with that argument.

You really need to go see a proctologist and get your head pulled.
There is a NAACP flag hanging on the wall in the library of Congess this is OK and legal but the Star's and Bar's are not.
If you didn't know that is a governement building as well.
This is not a one way street it run's both way's .

Not to mention the nazi flag stood for a nation of hate, and the confederate flag stood for a group of states wanting states rights. Lights me up when people say the confederate flag stands for slavery. Only a narrow minded, uneducated, uninformed fool would think that.

The true irony again here the party that say's that it hate's this flag is also the party that formed a litlle group called the KKK passed the poll tax law's the great Society. This party has done more to enslave American's than any other group and they have a blind following. True hypocrisy.

CB if it makes a difference you can come to my house and bring your flag when you come for dinner you can even drape it across the table :D ... I personally don't care about the flag either way. I think the flag got a bad rap from the people who used it as a symbol of hate and has etched a bad light in some peoples eyes forever. I had to stop some of my employees from wearing them on the clock and putting one on my GD work trucks...   I don't care what they do to their own vehicles but because I work with the state and local gov't as well as some subdivisions that houses start at 500k and up I got so many calls about this being on my trucks I had to tell them stop wearing it while on my clock one employee said all my clothes are some dixie line brand so I fixed that they got 10 shirts each and 2 hats each that was not out of my hate for the flag but protecting my business that feeds my family. Even rappers today wear confederate flags.

Sky I don't own one so I would have to go buy one.
I don't really care to own one I get slightly PO'd when the right's of one trump the right's of the other.

I don't see any problem with it being displayed for Historical purposes.
It is not the Confederate flag's fault that certain hate groups use it as their banner. The majority of American citizens /residents are ignorant about our Country's history and do not understand the flag's history.

The City of Lexington had better well ban all flags or banners from city light poles. If they don't, the Heritage Group should take the city to court.

You are right! Absolutely! The Confederates where totelly against slavery! They just hadn't got around to abolishing it yet...

Banning something is not going to change the past. It all depends on how you look at the flag. For me, the War of Northern Aggression was a sad pivotal point in our history. Brother fighting against brother. Families broken apart. It wasn't all about abolishing slavery (which needed to be done).

Chippie you and and I are argueing with ignorance.
The cause of the war all boiled down to a power struggle in Congress with the passing of the Missouri Comprimise.
With the purchase of the Louisiana Territory and the application of Missouri for statehood, the long-standing balance between the number of slave states and the number of free states would be changed. Controversy arose within Congress over the issue of slavery.
The Northern Dem's got po'd at the Southern Dem's and split the convention allowing Lincoln elected.
Neither side cared about slavery they cared about control of Congress.
Federal troop's first fired on U.S. citizen's in the city of Balitmore.

The largest slave trading port in the USA was in Rhode Island.

The Civil War was over power by the northern elites against the southern elite's.

The flag is the Confederate battle flag and not one that represented the Confederate states, per se. Many do not know this or understand that it's the chosen flag to fight under. The Confederate states had three other flags that represented the states as a whole.

Seems like the main problems with the flag started when radical organizations adopted it for their purposes.

Cb, you are right again, it's impossible to try to tell people like that anything. The stars and bars is the only flag on our pole here at the house. And if anyone thinks the civil war was about slavery they don't deserve the effort to discuss it with them.

Lets not forget that slavery was legal under the U.S flag long before and then even after it was abolished in the South. I thin kits ironic that all these left wingers seem to forget that the emancipation proclamation, by design didn't free the slaves, it freed "Some" of the slaves.

You ain't from around here are you boy!

Well lets look at that from several perspectives.

1. We aren't in Germany

2. The Nazi flag can be legally displayed here

3. So the Nazi flag can be displayed here in the good ole U.S of A, but now it seems the Confederate battle flag can not.

Seems like a perfect example of a group of people who think their rights are the only ones that matter.
