Got over nine inches of snow yesterday. Over a foot at DFW airport yesterday. Never seen anything like it around here. We were out in it making a snowman on top of Steve's car last night. I doubt it make the commute with him. Had a snowball fight. Made a snow angel. Felt like a kid again, but the gates won't open and it is taller than the dogs. Cole looks like a snow dog. He just keeps getting out in it. No school today. Got out early yesterday. Thank goodness we put out hay before this happened. I'm not going anywhere for a while. Can't get in the truck. The power was going on and off last night, I suppose from the weight of the snow on the power lines. Was all prepared for that but nothing happened. The day is young though, and it is getting colder. It will be gone tomorrow, as the temps are supposed to get into the fifites. Good day to stay in and drink coffee and stay next to the fire.

No power here since 2:00 pm. Got plenty of firewood, so I'm just praying the pipes don't burst!
Took the dogs out for a break right about dusk. It was strange and beautiful to see the world as though it were lit from below.
