Years ago, before coming back to the farm, I had a '66 Corvette convertible. Both tops. 427 big block, 515 hp. 4 speed Hurst shifter, side pipes. Elkhart green. I also had a 1970 LT-1 Corvette convertible also with both tops. The LT-1 was a small block 350 with 370hp. 650 Holley. 4 speed. Silver with black leather interior. Air conditioning was not an option as it took away from the horsepower. Hooker headers & side pipes. The '66 went to some collector in Dallas and the '70 went to a guy in Washington state. My parents thought I couldn't be part of the farm and own cars like that so it was STRONGLY suggested they be sold. What a mistake.
that's what happened to me!

I've only owned one car in my life and it was a 1968 VW bug with Goodyear terra tracs. I don't care for cars and can't remember the last time that I rode in one.

Grit maybe you were just lucky and born a pretty man.
I will tell you this a mussel car covered up ugly from head to foot.

The first car that my wife and I bought was a 1956 Oldsmobile rocket 88 coupe. A/C unit located in the trunk. Baby blue and white. We bought it used in 1962 when we married. 850 dollars. Wish we still had it. Swapped it in on a 1963 Chevrolet Corvair coupe. Sorry excuse for a car.

Yep..what suspension engineer thought this was a good idea?

You take the Subway?

Nope, and I've never been on a train before either. I bought my first truck in 1977 a beat up 1965 Ford F100.

I knew exactly what TG meant.
(I drove wife's car to Little Rock and back over the weekend. It was 'ok'... but sure wished I had taken the truck instead.)

my old car..sold it to build the ranch..built by me in my garage..in 93 that car went a 10.17 at 132 1/4 pass. street tires and mufflers..multiple show winner and magazine features. we drove it around here in fl just freaking people out..wish I still had it

its a 70 gtx actually..salvaged that from a junkyard in pa..owned it 20 yrs then sold it...actually got tired of winning everything I entered

Personally, I've got a silver 1960 T-Bird. Garage kept, pretty much all original. Got the 430 V-8 in it. 350 HP if I remember correctly. I guess that can be classified as EARLY muscle. :lol2:

Pretty high on my want list is some of that good ole Mopar muscle. Challengers have always had a special place in my heart since my dad started taking me to car shows at the ripe young age of "able to open my eyes". I chose an SS Camaro over a Challenger when I bought a new daily driver in 2015, but my next addition will most likely be an antique Challenger. It was hard to stay away from the Hellcat though...

Not necessarily mine, but also on the farm, we have a '59 Chevy Apache truck with the Napco 4WD under it. It needs to be restored and looks a bit rough. The fun part is, the engine is far from what originally came in it, so you could say it's a bit of a sleeper. :lol2:

Dad sold his turkey sh*t from the farm for years until he had enough money to buy (what I call) his 2nd daughter. We are both 1994 models, but she's more of a looker than I am. That one's a Viper.

I can post pictures if anyone is interested. I guess you could say we kinda have an odd collection... :lol2:

Old trucks are hot right now. You won't find the "cool guy" driving a muscle car in a movie or TV show much anymore, they will be driving an old truck or Bronco. I've seen a million old Camaro's and Mustangs and so has everyone else (no offense), and the rarer muscle cars are priced WAY out of the middle class dad's range. That may be a factor in the rise of popularity of old trucks, cheaper, easier to find, easy to work on MANLY LOOKING! Almost all of the older trucks are patina builds too, where you keep the rust and paint, making it cheaper as well, and more authentic. Shiny "hot rod" look is being replaced by slammed patina trucks on stock appearing wheels. I posted a pic of my old firebird on Instagram and got 27 likes, I posted a pic of my old F150 and it was well over 300. Vintage camper shells are hugely popular as well.
