Christians

Help Support CattleToday:

I don't think a persons percieved political affiliation has anything to do with them being a bonafide Christian. However, I do believe that most folks who continue to follow, or choose to be associated with the democratic party, has not truly considered the consequences (if they continue to vote party line). Truth is, I don't consider myself to be a "republican". I consider myself to be a Constitutional Conservative Christian, and I am forced to vote with for the party that most closely mirrors my morals and ethics, both social/political and religous.

I gave up on parties. I'm usually a republican. I was a registered libertarian the last time I got fed up with the republican party but I can't tolerate the lack of defensive stategy of the libertarians so I'm a republican once again. I'm a really conservative person that tends to favor freedom for EVERYONE and not just people that think the same way that I do so sometimes it gets blury. I vote my conscience and that usually makes me a very conservative person but sometimes it makes me a liberal. :? Morality should not be decided by government so I try to leave social issues out of my decisions(no matter how    I get).
The problem with throwing party affiliations out the window is that national up and comers are decided at local levels so it becomes important to pick a side and stick to it as the person you vote for will likely suport candidates of the same side. A conservative democrat will likely continue voting democrat and support other democrats that aren't anywhere near as conservative as he/she is. Then you wind up with liberal policies that were brought on by your vote for a "conservative" candidate.

And this is the reason the 17th should be repealed

Christians are like any large population of people in that you will find diversity. Even within the local church that I attend there are some members who are left wing and others who are right wing. My personal opinion is that both sides of politics need positive Christian influence.

That pretty well hit's the nail on the head.
I don't really like either party and more closely a Libertian.
Problem is they don't stand a chance. The Democratic's believe in everything I am against, doesn't leave much choice.
Our system has been corrupted by special interest and big money no matter the party.
Again if you elect good ole Joe if he is not a rich man when he get's to Washington he will be when he leave's.

This nation needs a leader. We don't call the founders of this nation "Fathers" because they partnered the birth of a human child. The present "President" has not been a leader, nor father. His only success has been to demonstrate (yes, it's spelled wrong) the differences among us, and drive a wedge between us. That is not a leadership quality, nor suited for a would be father. At least Clinton could meet in the middle. He!!, he had to; in 94' we took away his powder

Seems to me both parties are nothing more than liers... where's the Christian in that?
Democrats were for working people or supposed to be and the Republicans represents the big businesses.
That's what some want you to believe.

What a mess!! To be president you have to be one GREAT LIER!! and promise the world, never mind what is possible just promise it anyway.
They promise things they have no power to do or control. But people believe they can just do anything.
Oh, and do the Christian thing and lie enough about the other guy so much, that you so much better so you can win. Geez
I believe there are truly good people and Christians in government but they are limited by what they can do.
The whole thing boils down to "party".
I usually vote for what I consider to be the lesser of the evils.

I'm mostly a liberatarian type guy....kinda live and let live approach but I break from them over defense and drug policy. I am a pro-life, pro-business, pro-gun fiscal conservative with a streak of liberatarian. I believe that prostitution should be legalized for instance. I most always vote Republican since the Democratic party is soooo far removed from my viewpoint in just about anything meaningful. I get pi$$ed at the Republicans for lack of backbone and for the amount of hipocrites that seem to pop up. Republicans are content to let the liberals steamroll over them while offering the weakest defense. I can't see how someone who truly is a Christian can support the party of abortion, gay rights, animal rights, socialism etc. When you vote that direction you vote for that plank in the Democratis party platform.

The irony is the country was founded on religous freedom and liberty from tyranny.
We have come full circle and are in the same fight all over again. The very reason our ancestor's left Europe to settle here. The only difference is we don't have a tyrant five thousand miles away they are here.
Our ancestor's started out talking and pleading until the cry of to arm's was heard ringing the street's.
History is repeating itself from where I am setting.

Found this on web. Does anybody understand this astrology lingo? I don't but there may well be something to this prediction.

"Just to look ahead, mass confusion will happen on the day of the elections in America for Mercury turns retrograde that day, November 6th. Remember Mercury turned retrograde exactly on the day of the elections in 2004. There was a recount and controversy over the votes, and who really won the election between Bush and Kerry. Expect mass confusion once again, especially with the aspects of December 2012. Big transformations are due to come! "

It's a real conundrum for me. I don't think I will vote for a president this year.
Same here. I'm tired of voting in chaos!!
Valerie

Or mad because the democratic nominee sucks? Valerie, you have to choose the lessor of two evils in politics. That's just how it is. Which candidate follows closer to your beliefs and political views? Answer that and go vote!

By choosing that route, both of you are just contributing to the problem... VERY sad. :bang:

We all need to be as informed as possible. All the way from County Treasurer up to the President. Make the best choice. Sometimes it is the lessor of two evils.

I can still tell you who voted yes on the Brady Bill. I was so passionate that I kept the newspaper clipping.

Neither , so now what?

Well, you just have to wonder about some people.

Pro-life? Against same sex marriage? What say you Valerie? There will always be one candidate to represent your views closer than the other.

Take the blinders off and like Backhoe said, be informed! :tiphat:
