Well here I am in the midst of the Christmas bake-athon and I came up short on almond bark for dipped pretzels. I find myself with one package of pretzel rods left over. But I also still have a couple packages of chocolate chips. One semi-sweet and one milk chocolate. So it seems like the right thing to do is make some chocolate dipped pretzels. But do I need to add anything to the melted choco chips to "temper" the chocolate? Like melt some butter with it? Add a splash of vanilla extract for more flavor? There are recipes all over the net but I would like to hear some "been there done that" advice.

I have never added anything to the chocolate chips, just melt them. I am not sure the chocolate would set if you added anything..... I can tell you that if you somehow get water (any water) in with it you will have to throw the WHOLE batch.
