CHIGGERS...

WagaAgeyv, Might I suggest you just dipping him every week or so with a good flea dip?

Seriously, That chigger rid cream is good stuff. It is not expensive. I keep those little white bottles of it (they are about the size of film bottles) everywhere.

I think thats the same thing the pharmacist suggested. Its called chiggerex plus. Tried it last night after my shower. It did work for about 4 hours. I'll have to dab on an extra coat tonight after bathtime.

odoriferous

I've got to remember this word. It's a good one! :)

Oh granny, I got a million of em. Feel free to use it if you like!! ;-)

I thought you couldn't spell ferrous. You were perhaps talking about that stinking iron and came up with that. Putting a hot iron on those chiggers might work but your skin would definately have some odor as it burned.

I have taken a whole darn bottle of that cream and covered EVERYTHING from the waist down. Otherwise you get up at 2 a.m. and get behind the left knee, then 3 a.m. it is the right knee and shin etc. Aint gonna describe the tender places, but they itch too. Can't sleep, can't scratch, and can't yell cause it would wake up the whole house.

Got a buddy at home, that probably drinks 3 gallons of cheap whiskey a week. He say's bugs never bother him neither.

So if it comes down to drinkin vinegar or whiskey, I wonder which I would go with??? :P

Sounds like he would be too drunk to know if he had a chigger. Poor chiggers would probably be hung over the next day after biting him.

I had to take her to the emergency room because she had this solid red inflamed "belt' about a foot high starting at her belly button.

Dun, Did she have to take out that sexy belly button ring?

I wouldn't touch this one with a ten foot pole.

Garlic pills work or if you have access try some Ramps (wild mountain onions, but be prepared to get real lonely :) ). If it's too late and you have been gotten, you can dab some clear nail polish on the bite areas, seems to work pretty good.

Tried the garlic, and I have tried the polish remedy.

The only thing I can think of at this point, is to stay out of the pastures, and away from fencing, yard cuttin, gardening, and any manual labor outside.

I've heard folks say to try women's hose, but I think I'd rather get bit than walk around in women's hose.

A lady at the local pharmacy told me to buy the plain speed stick deodorant and apply that to the chiggers. She said it suffocated them and killed em. I tried it with mixed results. Its just as good as anything else I've tried. I havn't found anything that will work through the night without waking me atleast one time when I have chiggers bad. Just my 2cents

Walt

Also, I've heard (never tried it) that you can put ammonia on a cotton ball and swab the bites for relief, avoid the naughty bit areas.
