Reasons not to use GnRH unless it is part of a protocol:
1. Cost.
2. Twins. If you have an egg already in play and you give shot that drops another one you could get twins. Twins aren’t good unless you have a set & another cow loses her calf & will take one.
3. It’s nice to handle a cow without having to stab it with a needle every time the go through the chute. They don’t get as sour to the chute
4. Pretty safe as far as drugs go but if it were a human drug it would come with a long list of “people who use GnRH May experience memory loss,diarrhea,hemmorroids, gas, cramps, temporary blindness and death” or something like that. Not a big fan of using drugs outside of their directed use.
