when I catch my small herd before turning the cows out on pasture, I worm, check teeth and feet and preg. test. the cattle are healthy, but do they need any other shots before being turned out?

I believe in vaccinating. I don't know where you are and what dieseases are in your area. If I were you I would contact my local vet and get him/her to advise you on a solid vaccination program.
