The other day I a question got asked on a Facebook group I’m in about how folks liked their Epic calves. I thought I must be in some parallel universe. Epic calves should be in a feed lot.....why in the heck would a seed stock provider want progeny from genetics you can’t even prove?

Unless I read things incorrectly, an Epic bull was the number one performing Angus bull at Midland on the report I just received.

I can understand why someone would not want to get rid of an animal when so much work has gone into it, but I personally would not sell anyone a bull that is a carrier.

Also, it’s very important to test all your females as well.

Testing everything from day one with Angus GS and the genetic bundle test should be a given, but I realize that some people don’t want to spend the money to do it. I see it as a form of insurance.

I belatedly realize that's the case. Beyond me why Vermillion included the Lot 1 reference (from Casino's sale) into their advertising of the bull. IMO Begging for subsequent confusion.
AAA defect info and respective lists were previously easily accesible on their website. Apparently not the case currently. Telling.

Several things. Vermilion is not a small operation, I would say if all the members on Cattle Today formed a co-op and tried to compete with them it would be futile. They have tons of bulls to choose from but they decided on Casino Bomber N33. I assume they didn’t choose him on a whim. There was obviously some thought put into this particular sire.

Next the bull is suitable for heifers which a million bulls are, but his overall package looks very appealing to me. I could sell his sons easily in Kentucky to commercial producers. He will create good daughters in my opinion.

Next I like the story of Rancho Casino Angus as well as Vermilion. You guys are always talking about reputation, trust, and how long people have been in business. I like what I see with both.

I’m getting the feeling that you are a seedstock producer, from the comments on my cattle and others. You are highly critical and very quick to spot out problems. Everyone has problems in their herd, there is NOT a “perfect” herd, that’s not how nature functions. What there is however, are operations that work really hard to honestly improve the Angus breed, are you one of them?
