Stupid question alert ...

I know a water bag when I see it, I really do. I was tending to a calf that was abandoned by his mother and noticed that a water bag was showing on another cow. After giving 'Shishkabob' his bottle, I went to check on the cow -- very excited to witness yet another birth this season. Damned if I can find her or it. So, can they 'suck it back in'?

It would depend on how far out it was. Most likely it broke, and there aren't any membranes showing. That can happen. Look for a cow with a kinked tail, sometimes they just have a bit of a kink rather than a raised tail.

Thank you.

It was probably hanging about a foot with a small 'water balloon' at the bottom.

I'll be out throughout the night checking on her as well as my 'appears to be abandoned' calf.
