I think they had too many bulls for the demand. Like all sales, they had a top end and a bottom end. They sold some high dollar Angus bulls at the start and then dropped down to $1800-1900 near the end of the Angus sale. They have a floor on their bulls; I don't know what it is, but a friend of mine had bulls at one of their sales several years ago that didn't sell. Camp Cooley kept them to sell as private treaty. I don't know how much she got for them or how long they kept them, but she said she'd have been as well off if she'd taken them to the sale barn as weaned steer calves. It seems like the first Char bull sold for $10,000 and at least one sold for $11,000 later. I wasn't able to watch all of them sell.
