calf tongue

got a week old calf it's tongue hangs out of it's mouth about 2"..sucks ok and tongue doesn't hang out all the time..looks like it doesn't have good controll of the tongue

That is really common. I have some that have done that . Don't worry about it unless it doesn't ever go back in.

I've had newborns with protruding tongues.. usually because of a difficult birth and being hung in the birth canal for awhile. Generally with a good dose of dexamethazone they will be back to normal within about 48 hours.

Was it like that at birth?

Some calves jusrt don't seem to realix\ze the tongue belongs inside. If it sucks ok, I wouldn't sweat it any.
