Calf Problems

I have a holstein bull calf that is about 2 months old. We have given him two scour pills, recomended by the vet, and he has been given Panacur as a wormer. He is still scoured and he coughs as if he has worms. He has been eating as much 12% creep feed as he wants, which he does eat about 5 lbs. a day. If someone would happen to have any ideas or notice that I am doing something wrong would you please say so. I would be more than happy to hear from you. Thank you for your time and I hope this little guy gets better.

Take care, Benjamin

I had a little heifer that was the same way, turned out she had tapeworms. Have the vet do a fecal exam.

Dunmovin,

Will Panacur get rid of tape worms? It was given to me by a vet, but he just said that it would cure worms in general.

Take care, Benjamin

I don't know, but a one time deal of whatever wormer you use won't. You need to worm them to kill those that are there now and I think it's 7 days later do it again. We followed up again 7 days after that and it took care of them. May not have needed the 3rd dose, but it didn't hurt. The best bet is still the fecal exam. If your large animal vet can't/won't do it, your local dog vet probably will.

Panacur is cleared to take care of tape worms - follow directions. Jeanne
