HI all,
My young steer is 6-ish mo now. He just weaned off the bottle and has been eating 6-8 pounds a day of calf feed and ground corn (about a 2 to 1 mix) as well as nice pasture grass. We ran out or the feed this morning and cannot get more until tomorrow. He ate a good bit of just corn this afternoon. He is a bit under weight for his age from fighting off joint ill but has been growing and putting on weight much better.
Do we need to get the calf feed or would just the corn be enough for him?
If we do need to keep him on it, how long does he need the calf feed?
About what does this run in price? (the farm owner had been getting this but since we are not getting the replacer anymore and the co-op does not list prices online just products) Would the prices at tractor & supply co be similar or better/worse than the co-op?
Thank you.
