Calf down

My daughters feeder calf was down in the lot when we got home tonight. He was laying on his side. He has been eating and drinking well as far as we know and seemed healthy at this mornings feeding. Was able to get him up and he walked into the barn but seemed uncomfortable. He then payed back down. Could not get him back up. He does not appear bloated but tube him anyway. Not much air released. His ears are perky and eyes responsive. Temperature and restorations normal. Any suggestions?

Only one other calf in the pen with him. I suppose there is a chance.

Could you see any precise limp to him? Is he in with other animals? If so I may be leaning toward what boondocks is thinking.

My daughter has tubed him a couple of more times and he is now up and around. Has the scours but seems much better. Will continue to monitor him. Thank you for the responses!!

He may have gotten an overload of grain & had a "bellie-ache".
