Don't know about Ohio but here, the local volunteer fire department is more than willing to assist...I'm planning on burning an approx. 40 acre pasture that is currently undergoing "rehab" with our local VFD. All they ask in return is a donation to the VFD - no set dollar amount - just whatever you can afford. And I'm with those who said if you are going to burn, don't bother mowing...you'll probably get a better burn that way.
