If you are selling beef direct to customers then it might be ok, but I wouldn't advise going that route to sell at the markets.

You can find bulls that would meet all those requirements from any breed; including those breeds that the buyers actually want.

Wonder if I put them on F1s and trick buyers in to thinking they are Char?

There was two of them come through the sale on Wednesday. Both times there was 4 or 5 black Angus steers and one White. The buyers cut off the British White and took the Angus. Then the white sold for about 40 cents a pound less.

The reason i asked was because a few people i know tried them and said they were the craziest cattle they ever had and couldn't get rid of them fast enough. Maybe different blood lines your way.

What kind of cows do you have? How many?

30 mama cows. All raised here, black with a few reds. Mostly sim angus Blood lines.

My 1st choice, then, would be an Angus or Brangus bull. 2nd would be a Hereford, the most docile of all the beef cattle.

Why is it smaller holdings want all these niche market, si1+ producing mongrel breed cattle?
The good ones actually do cost less and bring more profit.
