Saturday I bought an Angus bull that was born 1/28/01 to breed cleanup on the heifers I didn't get to AI in May. The seller says he s/b ready to go at 11 months. What are some other opinions out there?

If you had a breeding soundness exam performed that should answer some of the question. I wouldn't expect him to be able to cover many cows at that age. With any luck you didn't miss many cows. Remember, at this time of year you are looking at early fall calves, if he doesn't have the steam to get them all done now, or at least most of them, your calving season will dribble on for months

The Angus Association doesn't even recommending fertility checking an Angus bull until he's 12 months old. He may be fine, but I wouldn't bet my calf crop on him at 11 months of age. Good luck...
