Take the bull out when the cows start calving and put him back in when you want him to start breeding the cows. The right time to take him out again is a little more difficult to answer.
To have the bull in with the cows a long time is not necessarily bad, because most cows will be bred the first weeks after you put the bull in. You will know if there are lots of late calvers and decide from there when to pull the bull.
You can cull some of the late calvers, and then more of them next year, Also, many cows will calve earlier next year than this year.
You can also consider if the ideal calving time is more important to you than having a tight calving season, your call on that one.

If they were already on a cycle that works for you then you should be fine. Most of them will calve on time and the one's that didn't breed back when they should will be off. With the market the way it is you should come out fine. Just sell the off cows as pairs instead of open culls.

thanks guys. I'm 16 years old and was working for my grandfather who owned the farm. my grandfather passed away so my father and i have been managing the farm. we've been pretty successful so far and pretty much know the basics about cattle health and all. this is the only thing ive been questioning. i was worried because i noticed that a lot of the cows that had calved recently and had just been wiened or maybe not even quite wiened from calves yet, were birthing agian. any advice is appreciated, thanks.

I'm assuming they are Spring Cows? I would pull him out before they start calving so you don't have winter calves. It's not real common but cows will breed back when their calve is a month old. Just get him out, feed him well and prepare to put him back out according to when you want your next calf crop.

You could also pull your bull, 45 days after last calf is born, synchronize cows and turn bull back in... Depending on how many cows you have, and what kind of calving season you would like.
