Glad you saved them. Something like that sure puts stress on you when you first see it. You hope you can make it turn out good for the cow and calf both.

I have a cow that had and lost a premie 5 days ago that still seems to really want a calf. I a. Trying to see if I can make a pair out of them.

One thing I should mention for anyone that isn’t already aware, a few cc’s of epinephrine makes this type of job one heck of a lot easier. Straightening a crooked calf, not the grafting part lol

We are fairly "warm" with temps in the 20s F. But the snow is relentless so I've been doing a lot bedding down cows and sorting the close ones into the corral during the ugly weather. 50% calved out, 3 more weeks to go.
We have a few from purchased “deals” now. Heifers are due April 1 and cow herd 10 days after that. We have heifers home a week ago and trailed 2nd and 3rd calvers home today. Monday we bring the mature cows home and then start vaccinating for Scours and a clostridial booster. We also treat again for lice with Boss and Ivomec at the same time. 9 cows in the alley at a time it goes pretty quick.We are suppose to be -20 tomorrow night. Is there a reason for both?
Our lice seem to be think either on their own are only spa days. I envision them swimming joyfully in Ivomec. We can’t buy Clean Up in Canada.

The Ultra Saber mix is very cheap compared to buying it. The mineral oil is the main part so cheap. PBO 8 is $40 for 32 oz. The Lambdody im not sure because a friend in the grain business gets it in good size amounts. Very cheap compared to $350 per gallon for Ultra Saber.
After mixing use 15cc per cow or 10 per calf.
