In light of the high fertilizer and fuel costs, I would lean toward Tift 9 bahia if it will grow where you are. Bahia has steady growth for many months. Its called "poor man's grass" here cause it doesn't require a lot of fertilizer or care. Its kinda like the energizer bunny, it just keeps growing and growing. Its not the best grass but it does have a lot of good points. Other options listed are more productive and better - if you don't mind more intensive management. It really depends on what you want to do.
