Bad Morning

One of our chickens didn't have much luck today either.. she got nabbed by a coyote.. but it was a very short victory for the coyote.. about 10 seconds later my dad nailed him with a .308 and dropped him in his tracks, still holding on to the live hen... She was cut pretty badly and she ended up in our soup pot. First time a yote has nabbed a hen from us in years, but this one has been getting bold the last little while... this ought to send a message to the rest of them though!

Glad you have another albeit temporary home for them!

Sorry, I just always try to face disaster with humor. Luckily everyone/thing is okay.

Well it could have been worse. Cousin discovered his folks house 5 miles east of us had the furnace go out and broke all the water lines and when it warmed up it flooded the house. Shorted out the freezers in the basement, luckily they did not have a fire.
