Never had it happen yet, but how do you deal with auto waterers - electric heated - in the winter during a power outage? Just want to be ready for the inevitable.

We have a master switch that isolates us from the grid. I just fire up the generator, throw the switch and hook the generator to the receptacle for the welder

Well when that happens here the cattle drink all the water valve stays open. No water can't freeze, electrcity comes back on heaters starts working, as water starts running. After a given period of time without electricity we start generators. Sometimes numbers are nice. We have virtually zero overhead powerlines anymore, to many broken lines. Power outages are usually at transmission facilities. Easy fix they say.
