I bid and purchase firearms from time to time off Auction Arms or Gunbroker.

What really PO's me about both site's is the hidden reserve.
Was high bidder tonight but reserve was not met.
It look's to me if you are going to auction it off, put out the starting minimum bid you will take and quit playing games.
This about the third time I have had this happpen.

Just because you won the bid, dosen't mean you own anything. It has to be an absolute auction for the final bid to count. Bought me a really nice d6d cat once, went to pay for it and the auction house told me it didn't meet the reserve, no sale. It P.O. me off big time because there was other dozers there I wanted. So I went to the spring auction and won the bid on 5 nice pieces of equipment. You know they were really P.O. when I didn't want the equipment.

It is smoke and mirror's .

Dog gone I never thought of doing that. Auctions items have been going for ridiculous prices and some are still not reaching reserve. What do you all think about Buyer's premiums? One of the top auctioneers in our area does that on all his on line auctions. I feel it is deceptive as hell, he has it buried in the fine print. I have vowed to myself not to go to his auctions. As far I can tell he hasn't missed me though. But it sure has saved me a lot of money.

Notice that a high % of the listed guns never get a bid. Those that are legit have a lot of bidding on them.
I agree on the reserve. If I knew I might be more interested. I dont play their game.

I know want you mean, about the reserve. what pees me off is the shipping. One seller, ships a gun for $25 bucks. Another seller in the same state, ships the same gun for $40. Whats up with that. Just a chance to make a few more $$.

The benefit to these sites is gun's from all across the country are available.
This is more benifical when you are looking for older models.

I am done with them Caustic. Been screwed too many times. It's very hard to be made right on a bad deal with someone 1000 miles away.

I prefer to feed my habit locally. I am done buying guns from a picture. BTW I agree on the reserve

I am getting there rapidly. I was after a Remington 241 for a grandson. He loves mine that was passed down to me from Dad. I wont let him tote it through the wood's, I hand him a Ruger 10/22. They didn't make many 241's.
