Made with whitetail deer leather...the cover flap is elk. Made by a good friend 5 or 6 years ago. He had a stroke 2 or 3 years ago and isn't doing too well. However, he tanned the hides that were used for this piece. The pen is there for scale.

Saw the guy who made this last Saturday. He can still hold a lucid conversation most of the time but has trouble getting around...he and his wife are good people.

You said think outside the box This is my living model of a cow, bound in leather with the hair on. I made it by putting a heifer with a bull and waiting 283 days.
I think it turned out better than the ones with rough out on them.
