When I worked for Adult Protective Services, I was constantly amazed at the numbers of elderly who would fall for this scam. I had one client that lost 10,000.00 in the "Canadian Lottery" and there wasn't anything she could do about it. I had an aunt that did the same thing.

Anyone ever try to send an e-mail to the return address? I was wondering. Probably get you some sort of virus!

I get similar e-mails pretty often - I just give them Crowder's name. I figure he can help them and then use his extra money from their funds to help with his Presidential Campaign!!!!????!!

Yes I did and I got another one similar, it is someone who accesed email addresses from cattletoday.com. I even called the FBI, I told them that I was gonna go along with this scam so they could catch 'em. He told me that I would be just as liable as the other person because, the laws are so assed up.

Dear Killala, I was just reading some of the old replies. I didn't join until May 31, 20006. What you have been sent is called :Nigerian 411 scam. We have gotten several of these, basically they are the same. They have money in an account, usually in Nigeria. and can;t get to it. They need someone, who is honest etc to help them. They talk about rewarding this person. I have read this in the Reader's Digest, one man went to Nigeria, brought some money with him. He narrowly escaped with his life!!!. He also lost the money, he brought with him. I forget what issue it was in the Reader's Digest. Anyway, maybe you can find out about it on the internet. We have gotten several emails, like that. Merry from Kentucky Be careful, too many scam artists out there.

There are many variations of them, you would be surprised at the people, who you would think should know better, who fall for them. I guess the lure of easy money over-rides common sense every time.

These e-mails have been circulating for years. There is normally a fee involved if you are stupid enough to follow up. We took a copy of one of these to the Police in the UK. They told us there wasn't much they could do about it, because the Law enforcement guys on the Nigerian or wherever side were generally in on the scam. Best thing to do is just delete the e-mail and block the senders address.

I must get one of those nearly everyday, I don't even open them I just press the delete button on them, as sometimes they carry virus and mess with the computer. don't know how they get passed junk scan sometimes.
