A nice herd of Salers cattle

Nice herd, I like the horns. It is easier to tell them apart with the horns, maybe that is why Ram?

Why do they leave the horns?

Because contrary to what the breed is known for in the United States, they are not particularly agressive. And they look better with horns.

I can't see the video from here, I'll try and take a look at it tonight.

You can't just have 1 cow with horns.. she'll become a tyrant in the herd, but if they all have them it's a different story.. I too think cows with horns look much nicer (with nice horns of course).

I have three different cows with horns, two of those are tipped, and these three cows are spread among two different herds. None of them is a tyrant or has ever learned to use their horns for dominance. In my opinion they are either bossy or they are not. I have a smallish polled jersey cross that dominates everyone in her herd, and a dehorned Brahman that rules the roost in hers.

I was thinking more about working them in a head gate. A my own safety while working them.
