Baled very well last year. I bought new three ply replacement belts. I baled 44 bales and then new belts would quit turning. Tried everything that you could think of and no luck with them. Had the old belts cut back six inches and did pretty good until Saturday and started pulling the laces out. We had reduced the bale size because of the shorter belts. I am thinking of removing the top drive roller and have it coated with line-x bed liner. I think that we are in the sand and the rollers get polished to the extent they are to smooth to keep the belts moving with out slipping. Any thoughts on the bed liner coating. Neither of the drive rollers have any coating on them from the factory. All bearings are in good shape as that is what I looked for first.

Isn't there a spring that sets the belt tension on the drivers side rear of the baler? I know a Rebel 5400 has one. I'd call a dealer to find out what the heck is going on.

My 5410 belts start slipping a little after about 75 bales when it gets hot. I just slow down when starting a bale and it feeds slowly until belts start turning again. If you go too fast the reel will plug the throat up. There is an adjustment nut on bottom of spring above drive chains. Might call Vermeer and see how many threads should be showing.

My dealer is about as worthless as teats on a boar hog. The baler has had the spring shorten by a service bulletin. I will call Vermeer tomorrow and check with them.
