5 calves out of 2 cows (pics)

Help Support CattleToday:

Couldn't immagine the surprize when they kept comming.
Of course I'd be surprized with twins...never had a set and a neighbor has a set nearly every year.
Oh well....Dave Mc

That's the second cow I've heard of having triplets. My buddy called the other morning and told me to "come down here now" He had a cow with triplets, all 3 were bulls and they were standing trying to suck. Lucky for him  he had a couple of cows loose calves earlier in the week and managed to scab one onto each cow and momma took one. I was down there yesterday and everyone was fine. They were "only" about 50 lbs. apiece.

~~

What a surprise.

What breed(s) are the moms ?

And how old are the moms ?

Whose the daddy ?

Thanks for the photos.

Cameras in the pocket sure do come in handy.

I talked to the owner again and he said the triplets weighed about 70# a piece, don't know about the sex of them yet though.

I never would have guessed that triplets could weigh that much. Was this cow injected with GNRH by any chance? I have never heard of triplets born alive, thanks for sharing.
knersie are you seeing some multiples out of cows where GHRH was in use? We use it and I havn't noticed any increase in twins.
