Small square bales at one of our local feed stores is fast approaching 2011 prices. Was $7.50, then was $9.50 and the sign say $11.25 now. It's trucked in...There was still a lot stacked around in mid November, but no local hay left now. SE US sourced 4x5s are selling for around $80/roll bahia bermuda mix a few places. By mid Jan, they'll be $100/roll

This makes me want to consider using Kenny's plan of stockpiling!

I let 1/2 my pasture stock pile that's what I'm grazing on right now then planted the other 1/2 in rye grass which is growing. The stock piled pasture has helped me a lot 1/2 way through December and I haven't put a roll of hay out yet
