No, that wasn't me. Figuring the Online semen cost $1K that would leave $2.4K to justify. Having 1/4 of 3008 genes is worth about $1K. That leaves $1.4K. The Enhancer genes are worth alot because of low birth weights. I would say she is priced about right or a tad too high but I wish I had 100 of them. If she has the capacity of my Online heifers and the eye pigment she could be worth about $5K. The lengths of 3008 and Online progeny are about as long of animals as I have seen. If she also is dark red and long also, she could bring $6K or more.

I have a hunch that a consistent warm weather shinier coat is triggered by rare genes associated to pigment darkness. These are the cows you want in the front pasture.

TY RD-Sam! She sure does look feminine. Kind of pretty in the face. She is not dark red though so that would have disqualified me from buying her. She does look moderately long. With the Keynote, Online, and 3008 influence, she could really put some growth numbers on the board when combined with a fast growing bull since she has a very low EPD BW probability. Maybe throw Remitall Hollywood on her in a couple of years (REA = .65 and IMF = 60) in an attempt to double up on MM RSM Stockmaster 512.

8.2 BW + 2.5 BW = 10.7 BW / 2 = 5.85 Projected BW
RD-Sam":mpigjwxw said:That's pretty red. So how would you achieve a dark red? I know in breeding dogs, breeding red to red would typically dilute the red even further, adding black back to the pedigree would darken up progeny down the line. Did somebody cheat and add a black baldy in there along the way?
