    End Of Comment

Here's some I liked so much that they are posted on our website: *Never approach a bull from the front, a horse from the rear, or a fool from any direction. *Don't squat with your spurs on *Talk slowly, think quickly. *If it don't seem like it's worth the effort, it probably ain't. *It...

    When to breed young heifers

I agree although we wait till our's are 2 years old. Just to be careful and I don't wanna start a ruckess b/c I know that is a while to wait but everything turns out better not to be in a rush the outcomes are better. Ellie May

    Kids and Cattle

Howdy, Well I remember when it finally sank in that our beloved steers were going to be raised for food. I went through a phase of not eating beef but I realized that it was n't so bad. The worse they could do is go through a phase but they will finally realize just might take a while. Ellie May

    Totally new

I reccomend Herefords. They birth easy, real good mothers, it doesn't take alot to fill their stomachs and can put on weight like nobodys bussiness. Not to mention gentle as could be. The downside we've had so far w/ them is the occasional eye problems, but that's about it. Ellie May

    Bull Question

Yeah chances are he has bred them, you have to worry when there are no calves on the ground. He maybe a romancer, you probably think I'm crazy for saying that but it's true. I have 2 bucks both reg. South African Boers. One buck breeds them where ever just as soon as they come into heat. But the...

Help with info on feeding fish to cattle?

Hey I like cat food, Just joking. Yeah I don't think I like the whole cattle eating fish thing. Cattle are plant eaters (herbivores). They don't eat fish in the wild. Maybe if the fish died, went into the soil and grass grew, that's the only thing I could even relate to. Ellie May

    Bull calf banding?

Howdy, We've banded as early as a day old and as long as we could fit the band on. The later you band the more bull will be in him. Ellie May

    Pink eye treatment

La 200 is good, but to make sure treat it as IBR. Even if you don't export & import that much. We don't import that much and one of our best cows' eye got bad we treated just like pink eye never went away by the time she was blind in both eyes the vet said OH IT MIGHT BE IBR... Well we solved...

    calf sucking wrong cows

Howdy, Yeah we've had that happen don't worry about it unless cow is fixing to calf. Then seperate them. We have a cow about 20 years old no teeth but still produces the best calf in the pasture. The problem is she pops them out so fast we are always worried about the calf she has drinking to...

    fencing questions

Howdy, Well we use 4 or 5 strands of barbed wire & about 8 on the perimeter or near neighbor's cattle. I prefer the board wooden fence the best with goat wire on the inside nothing can get in or out. A little expensive though. Ellie May

Placing a bull in with horses?

We have our horses & cattle in the same field most of the time. They never bother each other but then again we don't have cutting horses. But I do use my faithful Quarter Horse every year to round them up. Ellie May
