I have a bull that I borrowed to service a few cows and he has a big knot that came up on his lower stomach close to his back side. Any ideas on what it could be. He is about a 3 year old bull. Hernia?

It is really bad. She doesn't seem to be hurting and she is an old cow, but has raised me several calves and I hate to just get rid of her. I was working away from home and was unable to tend to her at the time.

I have a Crystalix tub out and I also spray the 5% Permethrin as well when I am home. I may try the fly tags as well. I have seen them pretty bad last year, but don't seem to be as bad now. I wished there was something that could be sprayed and kill instantly.

Seems the flies are already starting this year and I am just curious what everyone uses to control them especially in and around East Texas? Is there anything on the market that you can actually spray on them and kill them dead?
