    What could be wrong?

I ask the vet about removing the stones and he said he could operate but it would render the bull sterile. He said it was purely a salvage operation to keep the bull alive, but he could never breed again. Has anyone else ever encountered this? Thanks

    What could be wrong?

3MR has it right the Excenel was to help the fever/infection. The vet thought it was a stone right away and felt like I would be lucky if he didn't totally block before the sale. There was an outside chance there was swelling due to infection which the antibiotic could help, but it did not...

    What could be wrong?

Too late now, I sent him to the sale yesterday as a kill bull. Martin meats bought him and he's probably hamburger today. He brought 59.00 which was what I figured. The vet I sent him to was the best large animal vet in the area. He probably handles more horses and cows than the others combined...

    Mental Problem with cow?

Bez? described a cow we had a few years ago, pure retarded. After several attempts of getting her on a trailer; with many bent gates, broken boards, an torn up fences. We finally managed to get her secured in the trailer and she shook the truck all the way to the salebarn beating on the sides...

    What could be wrong?

Our bull is a 4yr old Blk Limo. He is with about 55 cows and has been doing a good job. Yesterday he wasn't with the herd and we found him alone lying down in the corner of the pasture. I made him get up and he appeared fine except the ground where he was laying was damp and fluid was coming out...

    organic iodine

I am just starting to feed organic iodine in with the loose minerals. Our bull came down with foot rot and have been told that would be the best preventative medicine. I was told to use 1 1lb. bag of iodine to 100lbs. of mineral. Is this enough? If I use more can this also cause problems? Thanks...

    Calves vs. coyotes

We lost a calf last month to yotes. However, that was the first one in a long time. Most of the farms around us have a jack or a jenny some have several. I just don't want to go to the trouble unless it becomes more of a problem.

    Fescue

Shouldn't be a problem. Anything to save hay just make sure they have their minerals.
