I was given a 3yr. old Buckskin stud colt for Christmas. He and I will be getting to work soon. He is very calm on the ground, so I hope this follows to the saddle training.

I picked up a polish Arab mare last year. most beut-A-ful mover I have ever had. A little spooky but we hope to work that out.

I agree< I think some times we blame the fit of a saddle for poor horsemanship on the part of the rider. pull on their mouth, kick 'em in the slats and you get a antsy horse. I rode an old Sear's and sawbuck saddle and never had a horse complain. ;-) :cboy:

ever use LA 200 on a horse?? doe's it work?? how much would I use? I have an old horse(30yrs.) he has a abcess in his front hoof, I opened it and drained it. I thought maybe a shot may help. :cboy:

I "HAD" A Seattle Slew granddaughter that had the runs real bad. I called my vet and was told the it was not a problem for an adult horse and to give PEPTO. She quit eating and died 3 or 4 days later. Have a GOOD Vet. check him out soon. :( :(

The going rate here is $70-$75 for shoes and $40 for trims. I shoe and trim my own so it saves alot of money. :cboy:

Just because a mare has a bloodline back to the king of "Texas" doe's not mean she is worthy to be a breeder. sometimes bloodlines run alittle too close to the cob. you get a big name on paper and a big Pain in the stall. I speak for experionce. :( :cboy:

As a farrier, I would think Scratches is a real possiblity. Rain rot is most often found on their back and rump. they do look simmilair to some persons. :cboy:

I have found the TOM THUMB Bit works best foe my horses. It is a Curbed Snaffle. I start my young horses in a snaffle or a mechanical hackamore. :cboy:
