There are getting to be more and more cougar sightings here (ND) too. I haven't heard of any cattle trouble, but there have been several attacks on horses the last few years. Some nasty gashes in the hind quarters and neck area. I don't think any horses have died tho. The Game and Fish Dept...

I would imagine that this varies greatly from region to region, but what does everyone pay to rent good grass pasture? Specifically per cow/calf pair and per acre, also what are the terms such as who provides fenceing supplies etc. Thanks.

Polaris is still automatic belt drive, there are true workhorses! No matter where your at or what your doing your always in the right gear, no wheelie poppin when downshifting up steep inclines. I have nothing against any other brands, I just know polaris works great. They also have true 4 wheel...

If you do decide on a side by side rec vehicle, look at the polaris ranger and yamaha rhino, they blow the mule away in power, rider comfort, ground clearance and performance. I'm not sure of the price difference but they are both worth looking in to. Wish I could afford one! I don't mean to dis...

I agree. I too love my horse but theres no quicker way to get things done, just hop on and turn the key. I know it's not the "cowboy way" but we live in a fast pace world, gotta get 'er done!! Funny thing.......That damn thing was so easy to break too! :lol:

Good tip on stretching wire with the winch Sam, I'll have to try that. I guess I should say what I have on mine so far, warn 2.5 ci winch, cargo box on back and I have a front rack basket that I haven't installed yet.

I have done some research on this and about all I come up with is that there is a concern that brucellosis may be transmitted from buffalo to cattle. However there has never been a proven or ducumented case of this. This is the main reason they kill the buffalo that roam out of Yellowstone Park...

With the kind of metal experience it sounds like you have access to, I wouldn't be afraid at all the make your own. Just go and look at a new one for ideas and weld away!! Stay away from sharp corners/angles or anything that could catch the animal and you should be fine. One thing, our shute...
