sorry forgot to add that its decent quality. have corn soybean meal and several other stuff that are higher in protein. I don't think they need a lot more protein but maybe I'm wrong. prefer to use corn an soybean meal

computer broke down so I can't figure up rations. I got some alfalfa and I was gonna feed some 200 to 300lb. calves with it. what should I add to ration to get 2lb.s a day?

I'm always looking for cheaper ways for backgrounding calves. I would like to know how many pounds of a 14% pellet I would have to feed to average at least 2 pounds adg a day? I buy the calves as 4 weights an keep them till 7 weights. I also feed free choice good quality grass hay with that.

I'd say its just a feed change. we have had calves go off feed for a couple of days until they get use to the new ration.

OK I've been thinking of running stocker cattle. I would like to do an all hay diet instead of grain since my cost would be about half. I know that the adg won't be neat as good but it will be a lot cheaper gain. the calves would be bought as 5 weights an run for 100 to 150 days on hay. however...

OK I've been wedding the feed mix you guys recommended but was thinking of doing ddgs instead. how many pounds ddgs should I feed to make up for 1lb. of soybean meal.?

we buy 20% cubes here just to use them as a treat an our cows will run over you if your not careful to get their head in the bucket. if the cows aren't use to eating cubes it may take a bit for them to get use to them.

I've also heard that u can put beef calves on a all corn diet of course u would have to have a little roughage but does that work for beef calves?

ya figured I would add a protein mineral source I think its called ruff mate 52. it has 52% protein and has all the minerals in it. how much would mix that in with the corn? or is it to much protein or what?

this last week we had 500 steins bring close to 2.20 never seen steins bring so much
