I would go to your local feed store and get a 11 or 12 % high grain feed. Feed them 2 - 3 % of their weight per day. You can add the cracked corn to the feed.

Tell your butcher to hang your half as long as you would like and let the other guy cut his up when he wants. It shouldn't be that hard to hang your half longer since the animal will be cut in half to hang anyway.

I usually feed my bulls all they will eat until they get 12 months. This allows the bulls to put on as much muscle as their genetics will allow. After that I turn them out in a big trap and feed cottonseed cubes 3 times a week. I haven't had a customer complain about the bulls falling apart...
