    I have a bunker pit and before I start filling I lay plastic on the sides and the bottom of the pit and I have no waste at all on the sides or bottom, but still have some on top. If when filling I get a hole on the side it will spoil some.

    I have some real nice conditioned cows and some thin cows the way I feed now. I am trying to get away from feeding grain for now and maybe later stop corn silage and have cows that will do good on just baleage and dry hay and minerals.

    Thanks for the replies, by what I am reading I need to cull my thinner cows, keep replacements from my fatter cows,and get a bull with a high feed converstion rate. Maybe after many years I can have cows survive on just a hay and pasture diet, am I correct?

    I cant believe that you are cutting brome for the first time in Nov. and it is still alive. My brome would be dead by July, I try to get mine cut by middle of June and a second cut in Oct.

    I would put the cattle in and let them eat what they want and then bushhog what they dont eat.

    If the heat ruins the protein than how come haylage and silage even wrapped round bales have higher protein than when the crop is dried, all silage goes through a heat cycle.

    I also found out that net wrapped hay seems to shed water better than twine wrapped, but net had gone up alot this past year.

    I have 2 8foot copper ground rods for ground. The charger manual said to use 3 but I only used 2.

    The bottom wire isnt grounded it is just there. When I was running the fence I put extra crimps on the wires where I connected the power and where I put in gates so all of the wire is crimped together.
