    Pharo Cattle Company Auction

You're not supposed to look at Pharo cattle, you're supposed to listen to what Kit tells you about them.

    He's Mr. Carter's son.

2008 Pharo Sale. DON'T MISS IT!!

468 is a completely reasonable low end of a grass fed calf crop (or creep fed for that matter). I just have a hard time taking a program seriously when a 280 lb bull calf keeps his nuts at weaning.

2008 Pharo Sale. DON'T MISS IT!!

You're calling B.S on the 350lb ww statement? They lead off the sale with and retained semen interest in a 370lb ww bull. Lot 81 had a 282 lb ww and sold for $2,500. We had a calf like that one time but it was a bottle calf that had a battle with pneumonia.

2008 Pharo Sale. DON'T MISS IT!!

I'm sorry but to say that the only difference is height is highly misleading. Kit ran plenty of bulls through the ring with ~350lb 205 day weights.

2008 Pharo Sale. DON'T MISS IT!!

I'd really like to know that as well. Do you sell them on the rail? If not, they're still almost certainly going to end up on feed. I know plenty of "low input" cattlemen, my dad's one. They don't spend anywhere near an average of $3,400/head on bulls.

Why weren't the 333 registered Brangus females sold in their previous "Complete Registered Brangus Herd Dispersal"?

    Cattle market headed south?

Read closer, they aren't even checking to see if you can pay right now. We have no problem at all paying, that's not the issue.

    Cattle market headed south?

Just try it. I've been calling around looking for financing on a small tract of land. I have been told 10.3% for a 7-yr note is the lowest interest rate, longest term they can do before I even start to tell them about my situation.

Is there a "best" time to send the culls to sale?

If you are talking about just one 9-mo bull calf, just go to the closest sale. The gas to get him to a sale one county over that pays $5/CWT more would eat any increased profits.

    Internet and Satellite Auctions

I've spoken with about half a dozen operations and it's been a pretty solid consensus that the Internet is the way to go. With the amount of competition between the webcast guys, the systems Based on what sellers have told me, satellite costs $4,000/hour vs about $2,000 per day for the...

Yeah, she was impressive. I know of a few people, including myself, that were ready to jump on her if she slipped through.

    Sullivans

It's a clubby focused female sale. They have primarily Maine genetics with a mix of Hereford, Charolais, Simmental, etc. I just scanned the catalog but didn't see any Shorthorns this year. They had a Shorthorn bull last year they had promoted quite a bit but couldn't get over $5k on him...

    Camp Cooley Dispersal

I guess I still don't get it. They have an 800 number on every single page of the site and the direct phone numbers and e-mails of over a dozen employees on their contact page. It's not like you posted a secret e-mail address, it's on the staff page.

    Camp Cooley Dispersal

Not sure why posting their e-mail needs permission, they have a couple dozen ways to contact them via their website.

    Camp Cooley Dispersal

I see nothing in the letter on Campcooley.com that indicates they are shutting down for good. They still plan on having their "Customer Appreciation" sale next Spring and they have more genetics in recipients (which are not part of this dispersal) right now than nearly any other ranch out there.
