    S U V Decision

Don't know what a crossover is, but I love my Suburban. Well, both of them. Still have the 2004, first one we bought and have converted it to 100% farm use. Have a near new one, an LTZ with all the extras and we love it.

    Tonutti 10 Wheel V Rake w/ Kicker ?

Never heard of that brand, so I don't have an opinion. However, several years ago I paid $6,000 for a new JD 704, 12 wheel, wheel rake. I bought it to keep up with my new JD 567 baler in a combo deal. I think the rake was designed for use on a golf course, because the first time out I tore...

    Alum Trailers

I am in the market for a new trailer, as well. Have narrowed it down to Eby and Barrett. Think the Eby is all welded and the Barrett is welded and riveted. Anyone have any experience or an opinion on either brand?

    Upgrading my tractor

Cheap horsepower is a requirement for most operations. I do not think it possible to buy land, buy cattle, buy equipment, pay for the inputs, pay off all loans and make a living for your family without inheriting a substantial part of the operation. In my part of the country most of us are...

    Upgrading my tractor

I prefer John Deere primarily due to the large number of dealers within 100 miles providing ample availability of parts & service and plenty of competition. My main chore tractor is a JD 7520 MFWD with a 741 SL loader. The thing I dislike about the 20 series tractor is the use of numerous...

    Baler Broke Down

Thanks for all the suggestions. In the field I check both slip clutches, check for rocks, tree limbs, bones, etc., checked the sprokets and roller chains and felt for heat on the outside of bearings. It turned out to be one of the four bearings on the main rotor. Dealer had to drop the pickup...

    Baler Broke Down

Wondered about this. Just had the cam rollers and pickup reel rebuilt by the dealer before the season.

    Baler Broke Down

Had ten acres ready to bale last night and the pickup reel of my JD 567 stopped and the slip clutch went to chatterin. Think a bearing is froze up. It is the fourth of July and doubt I can find any one close to bale the field before it rains tonight. Oh well!
