    An udder rupture

I noticed one of my cow's udder has a rupture and is running. When viewed from behind the rupture is on the left side of the udder about midway from the top to where the left teat begins. No swelling that I can tell in the teat area. Its more like a knot. Opinions??

I was late in locating a newborn calf for various reasons and when I finally found the calf I noticed that the flies had gotten to him. As a result he has lost quite a bit of hair along his back and the skin appears to be almost raw looking. I have had this happen once before with a calf born...

    Pink eye vaccination.

I might add that when you see the most pinkeye is when the cattle start becoming somewhat stressed due to drought /poor pasture, in other words when their nutrition requirements aren't being met, so try to keep them on good pasture. JMHO

I think the key words here are "with varying success" I sometimes wonder if its a waste of time and money.

    Dislocated Hip

Can he walk?? I had a calf that got stepped on and his mid joint (For lack of a scientific name) on his hip jutted out with each step. I figured I would slaughter him at the proper time if he kept limping but after about 8-9months he looks normal and is walking just fine. Sometimes it just...
