    Irish Blacks

    Amerifax, 5/8 Angus and 3/8 Friesen. We have a herd here in SW Nebraska. I think the Irish Black is similar but has different percentages as bred by the identified ranch. Not all known breeds are on the OSU site so not sure why that comment was necessary.

    From my own experience 50% is a pretty good rule of thumb. Depending on breed and condition can be a couple percent more or less similar to cattle. Remember hanging weight, like cattle will be more.

    Feedlots to see?

    Decatur is good ,also you may want to stop in at Heartland Cattle Company in McCook which is nearby. They specialize in heifer development. In fact if,you travel down Highway 83 (Where Decatur is located out of Oberlin you will see plenty of large feedlots along the way.
