    Advantix or Frontline?

Advantix has the same ingredient as Advantage - Imidacloprid, but Advantix also contains Permethrin for ticks and mosquito control. Frontline contains the ingredient Fipronil (more toxic than imidacloprid, but also kills ticks ). All three kill fleas instantly. Advantage is less toxic for...

    Cats vs. Snakes ?

Cat's are not wild animals anymore and they don't have a "natural habitat". Try googling "cats and wildlife" and see how many links will be from PETA. Looks more like you arguing with each other! :tiphat:

    Cats vs. Snakes ?

I also have two cats . They don't go outside because it's not safe for the birds and it's not safe for the cats either. But they have a kennel they can get to any time they want .

    Cats vs. Snakes ?

You're confused - The snake IS native here, and unless you are a Native American, you're the one whos not in your native habitat. I would not let a poisonous snake stay in my yard either, but I would not kill a harmless animal (rat snake, etc.) and then be proud of what I had done.

    Cats vs. Snakes ?

But unlike snakes, cats are not in their native habitat! http://www.thepetcenter.com/imtop/speaker3.html

    Cats vs. Snakes ?

I also have chickens, and I don't mind if snakes eat a few eggs, but I have 14 birdhouses and a lot of birdnests in the bushes and I can't allow them to eat all those baby birds :( This is why if I see a snake this time of year, I relocate it. I wouln't keep one in the house because I also...

    Cats vs. Snakes ?

I really confused here... I don't understand what you mean. I said kids play with dogs, when they have a pet dog in the house. But it don't mean they will go play with neighbor's guard rottweiler just because they are use to playing with a dog. They do - have you checked my links above? And...

    Cats vs. Snakes ?

I don't think it would be a problem. By the time he is old enough to play outside by himself, he will know the difference. I also have a German shepherd that plays with the baby. You can say the same thing - he will not know the difference and will play with EVERY big dog he meets ;-)

    Cats vs. Snakes ?

I removed it yesterday because I thought people didn't like it. But I might put it back! The snake was REALLY gentle and if I had not caught it myself, I would thought it was a pet snake :) (I also washed the snake before I let the baby play with it). People, who think it was wrong, can check...

    Cats vs. Snakes ?

It's just a baby rat snake. They are ONLY dangerous to mice and good to have around. I don't think the cat would be that brave with a real poisonous snake. Myself, I don't think cats should be used for "snake control". They'll kill the good snakes, along with birds and other small animals...

    Cats vs. Snakes ?

With such fear of snakes, I would think you should avoid topics with word "snake" in it's subject

    Cats vs. Snakes ?

 Just because you hate snakes or have ophidiophobia does not mean this is wrong. Rat snakes are a LOT less dangerous to people than cats, dogs and other "cute" animals. But if my pictures bother you that much, I'll remove them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ophidiophobia

    Cats vs. Snakes ?

My cats don't pay snakes any mind. I just found two rat snakes in the barn - 4'3" and 5'3" long. The smaller one was gentle enough for me to take these pictures with cats and even with baby :D

    Electric fence and snakes

Yes they will eat eggs, in the barn they have eaten a lot of eggs and baby birds that were nesting under the roof. I got tired of it and plugged all the holes, and then installed birdhouses on poles. Ten birdhouses have baffles, the other four have fence. Just a few days ago I found two rat...

Pictures of some kind of growth. Anybody know?

Does anybody have a clue as to what this may be? It don't seem to effect her in any way. She is about a half grown heffer mixed beef breed. I have seen warts before but nothing like this.

    Electric fence and snakes

How does it work? The snakes get trapped to the sticky stuff? I don't think I could use something like that anyway - I have chickens and geese there. They would eat everything that got stuck, it could also mess up their feathers.
