    hard breathing in calf

    today i noticed my only calf still on a bottle seemed to be laboring for air and had a slight caugh...so i gave him 3 cc's of nuflor..anyone have any suggestions....the calf was vaccinated monday morning with virashield 6 would this have anything to do with the breathing and caugh..thought maybe...

    yesterday i vaccinated 6 calves anywere between 3 weeks and 6 weeks of age...i vaccinated with virashiel 6 subcut on the nack.and for blackleg im.....all as the vet told me too...today they have some huge lumps on the side of there necks.is this normal or should i be concerned or how can i help...

    should i use a medicated milk replacer or should i use a non medicated replace.reason asking evrywere im looking on the net for tip tells me not to give antibiotics unless necessary to young calves cause if repeated time and time again the calf could come amune to it..should i use unmedicated...

    prices have slid some but in the past few weeks were i live they have rebounded again but that doesnt mean it is gonna stay that way.....prices are good right now for anyone that has a calf to sale so id have to agree with everyone and say sale ...doesnt seem to me like they are alot to gain...

    Terramycin treatment for scours..?

    also if there are any blood tinged or mixed in with the scours you have a case of coccidiosis and you need a sulfor bolus ..2 boluses for 100 pounds and they last i think for 3 days they have worked really well for me

    the terramicin tablets are pretty good in most cases...but it is 2 at a time twice a day to treat the scours plus you got to replace its fluids

    sorry to say but he died this morn i tubed him for bout 30 hours to no avail...but i feel good bout putting forth the effort to save him maybe next time ill be more prepared for the situation
