Three newborns born today, all out of heifers.
Limx heifer at 279 days out of dairy heifer.
Limx bull calf out of limx heifer at 291 days. Big fella, so needed some help.
Belgian Blue heifer out of dairy heifer at 279 days.

Three years ago was the first calf for her mom. Now today she had her first calf. With help, as again a quite big fella, but very good mom.

Ya know... it is such a relief to know that somewhere in the world there are people that aren't living under the thumb of "Certified Angus Beef" oppression.
I really love seeing some variety in animals. All of them great and you can tell them apart without an ear tag...

Yeah, I'm happy as well. Black is on the opposite spectre here
it's harder to sell weanlings if most of them are black.

You have nice cattle... but you have a good eye for photography too.
Pastures are looking better. The mud is gone.

These heifers are probably gonna be moved on grass only when all will be calved. The last is due on the 29th of this month.
Today's arrival. Bull calf by the previously posted lim bull. Born at 286days, mom is 75%lim, 12,5% blue. Unassisted delivery. Heifer herself had 128lbs BW, so glad that the selected bull was a good choice for her to get an easy calving.

Some of the heifers for the next year breeding.
Something abit different. Two from the left are fully dairy heifers. The third one is out of dairy cow. May-June born. Not that we need the dairy ones, but too pretty to sell for somebody else one is sired by Brown Swiss and another is by Normande.
This one was an eye catcher from early days. However, her trait to get stressed out quickly and severe is really making me question if I want to keep her. Late April born.
What I really like about her is her lenght. It comes from her mom. This year have a heifer again from the same cow, but by charolais bull. Again, long heifer, which has potential to be a great replacement. The light one on the right. Less than a month old.
Youngsters group. June-August born. Pure parthenaise on the right in the first photo and at the front in the second. Youngest heifer from the group as well.
