Got it. The bad gateway errors should be fixed. We had to tweak security as we were getting bombarded by bots. Let us know if you still experience it now.

As for the photos, we'll go take a look.

They've got it all figured out now. Selling come November. Wheats coming in and folks are gonna want grazers. They'll be weaned 30-45 days and ready to go.
I'll see if I can get a pic or two of some of the cows. I plan on selling them as soon as I can actually get em caught. These cows are just idiots. Or really smart. Either way, they're a pita!!

I've still got Bessie, Seven and Dapples. Ol Rocket died on me last month while raising her 11th calf for me. She was a good cow. I'd considered selling her. But always told myself she'd die on my place. Foolish maybe, but she was the first Heifer I ever got and grew into a great ol cow!
Idk why she died. She was in great condition and seemed perfectly healthy. Is what it is.

Here's what I got caught and hauled today...
2 cows, the lil black one is one that runs outta the pen at first sign of anything out of place. And always takes calves with her. And the scruffy brindle cow from spring.
3 Calves
One of which is Rockets heifer.
The crazy cows steer
And a lil yearling steer I bought to either butcher or re-sell from a page back. He's grown good thru the summer.
I'll update when they sell.
Alerts ain't working but I'll keep an eye on this thread!

And here's a fairly current picture of my GAR Homefree Bull.
I thought about re-selling him. But after this years bull purchase that went south (1st bull was too aggressive towards people) I think I'll just keep this one. He's got a good disposition and does his job!
Maybe I'll buy some heifers to breed over winter and sell in the spring. He's supposed to be good for that.

Good for you catching that danged little cow that always runs out the pen and takes a bunch with her... They are PITA's....
Bessie looks good in the picture on her thread... I have found that if the grass is good, they can do a pretty good job of raising 2 without pulling them down too much.
Sorry about Rocket... but with 11 calves, made her 13 or so??? She had a good life, and paid you back a few times over...

That's a good looking little bull you got there...Murray. Should bring good consistency to your calf crops.

This year's crop were out of this bull. PeeWee. I liked him pretty good except his rear feet. I made good money on him and got all my cows bred. This bull ain't near as pretty I think. But after running a black bull last year, the crop is pretty consistent.

Last year's bull, And this years bull. They getting the job done anyway.

So!
The little black cow bred right up. She was called 5yrs old, 4 months bred and brought 2500 even. Sold by the head.
The red/brindle/off color cow was also 5 yrs old but didn't breed! She only brought $1672
That's a big discount for not breeding. And she was with the bull from day one. About 6 month. There was always something off about that cow to me....

But it all mathed out. Her steer calf brought weighed 440 and brought $4.60 off the cow. No weaning except he sat at the sale since Sunday. I really don't think he lost much weight being with his buddies, but it doesn't matter really. They penciled ok for my operation.

Not the little black cow, she was a real winner. I gave $2875 for these pairs. Her calf is weaning now. I'll sell first week of November and see how they do. Wheat is coming up in places already. I suspect demand will be highest before Thanksgiving.

And update from one of the calves on page one. Post 17
I bought him and 2 others. Decided to sell one. I bought him at 300lbs, and he's been on pretty much grass since purchase. Occasionally a scoop of feed to get em used to coming in the pen. I gave around 900 or so for him and his brother. He weighed 555lbs and brought 4 bucks. For $2220
Number 2 calf was a dang sure winner.

And Rockets heifer was 520lbs. Rocket always grew a bigger calf. Gonna miss her!
Brought 3.25. Heifers were not hot yesterday. They all seemed slightly lower

Pretty good calf here except for that eye. I got feeling it's gonna have to be removed. Can't hit him with any more antibiotics before sale time unfortunately.

Alright. I'm sure to stir some stuff up, but when I bought these 6 pairs (pics on first page and throughout the thread) I knew exactly what they were. Fella sold his entire pasture.

Every one of the mothers is out of a half corriente cow!!!

These cows were then bred to some high powered bull that I can't for the life of me remember at this moment. It's on the tip of my tongue. I'll remember I'm sure. Starts with a B. Anyway. There ya have it.....
They sell in November.
