2025 Bull and Projects

I am no trader but I think you have done real well. Those young black cows would be worth keeping around if that suits your program or should make you pretty good money with a summer time cleanup and a breed back. Those others you bought and cleaned up should work out well for you too.

Yep!
I've let it down at far as it'll go @kenny thomas
That truck is high!
We call it Willie Nelson..... 😂

The hay spike that slides on requires the ball to be above the bed. That's gonna change soon as I don't wanna be sliding that beast on and off of the bed any more. The new bed will probly be worth more than the truck. But it's gonna happen soon enough....
Then I'll have a flatbed and a slide on hay spike for sale. 🙃

The young cows are coming along pretty decent. The one with the reddish thick hair is not slicking off as nice as I'd like, but summer ain't here yet either.
Calves are growing like little weeds, tho I lost one steer.

Bull buying time in a couple weeks and then we will see how they breed up.

I've still got 2 cows hanging back when I feed. But they are settling down some. Range cows take a while to get with the program. Still a little thin, but already looking much better I think.

I picked up 3 bull calves Saturday for a song.
The two 300lb black ones were de-horned, tagged, wormed, banded with my new big bander and given a shot of covexin-8
They were just under 1000
The 400lb bmf bull got the same, cept he's polled. He was bit higher, but a steal at 1300 I think. All weaned 60 days and it shows. They should really take off now!
I should really invest in some implants for my initial workup. I've seen good results in the past, but using the vet is awful expensive for something I can do myself.

The plan is to eat 2 of em next spring. Graze em all til fall this year and sell 2 to offset costs of the ones we are gonna butcher. (I need to get ONE MORE bought)

Straight to work. Someone took a beating by holding these guys 60 days and not de-horning or castrating. Thin and good!

Here's my new mirror and stock trailer. Been saving for quite some time to get a pretty good trailer. 6x16 Gooseneck. 99 model Ponderosa

I like that truck. Don't see them much anymore, especially hauling a gooseneck. Need a few more pics of it.

Really slicking up now! Should breed up well.
And they are all finally coming up for feed! I don't call em up unless I'm gonna give em a bite. 10 cows get half a bag once or twice a week. I was beginning to wonder if they would ever settle down enough to get trained. These cows are all young enough I could just keep em and quit trading so dang much. The bull I have should improve the calves from them. We will see...

That shaggy red cow has finally slicked off. She's pretty brindle really. Not near as fat as the others. She must really be giving it all to her calf. Pretty sure she was bred today.
Bad pics. But still pics none the less. I love her color. The pictures really don't show her brindling. Especially with that deep dark colored face.

This lil guy sees the world a bit differently than everyone else. I'll have to eat him. He will take a big hit come sale time.

Lil short eared steer.

I have one with an ear like that. Presumably a touch of frostbite when he was born but the tips haven't come off.View attachment 59978
There's something ya don't see every day too!
This lil steers whole head is crooked. Can't seem to look to his right very well either. I've noticed when he moves. He most always turns left.

I have a heifer calf like that this year. Her right side of her body seems bigger than the left and her cowlicks are a little off center. Kind of low headed and she has more trouble looking toward the big side. She is looking a little more normal every day, but will always be a bit off. Her name is Twisty. Probably have to just feed her out. Be interesting to see the weights on each side when they split the carcass.

Pulled 9 of 11 calves today to wean. 2 slipped out with their crazy mothers before we could get the gate closed. ALL 6 OF THESE NUTTY COWS ARE LEAVING. Just as soon as I get all 6 caught at once. Cows like these are bringing near what I gave for the pairs this spring. I'm hoping for 2k per calf average. I think I'll be alright even losing one calf. Hopefully I can get the other 2 calves caught soon.
My motley group here looking for their mamas.... 🤣
Why heck is the pic sideways. Grrrr

Yes. That's my bull. Just got done riding the little heifer all the way to the finish line. Sheesh

Hope it don't take.

There has got to be something wrong with how the site is working... all the error messages and inability to get into threads, and all these pictures being posted sideways... since it is from several people, I think that the @ctadmin needs to look into this. I am NOT at all computer literate... so have no clue... will take someone much better with this stuff, but it is a pain for those that are posting pictures, like these that @MurraysMutts just posted, and others... Hope someone that is smart and knowledgeable can fix it....

@farmrjan, What errors exactly are you getting, including inability to get into threads? I just tested posting multiple images, and they did not go sideways. Have you tried posting an image and got the same problem?

For the last few weeks I know people have been clicking on the site, or Alerts, or Post reply... and getting kicked out to a screen that says there's a "Bad Gateway". I've tried notifying @Marie but don't know if she's received anything.

I have gotten the bad gateways frequently... had to shut down the computer and start all over and got it again on a couple threads that I would click on .... when you go on the right hand side of any thread where it says latest posts.
I do not have the capabilities (in other words, not smart enough to figure out how) to post pictures, but have seen several different posts where the pictures were sideways...
Seems that @simme had a couple of his kept heifers that were sideways... maybe you guys fixed that...
I'm not complaining... just wanted to make sure that someone with alot more expertise and smarts than me, knew that there were some problems.

My pictures load upside down unless I copy and paste them on a new post.
