Yeah. Both easy births. They would be an average calves for us.

Bull calf next to his dam. He isn't the biggest calf from her. All born unassisted as well. She is 11 years old. The heifer's dam is even bigger cow and had her share of bigger calves unassisted as well.

That's the heifer's dam two years ago. She had a bit bigger heifer then.
 
Well, we have a very strong prospect to be a herd bull growing.

Next cows due from AI on 23rd. First calvers will have their second calves. If our previous bull had been working well there would have been a group of cows calving at this time.
Already done sellection for new group of heifers for AI in June and selected 9 for sale when pregnant for a friend. All new bulls for this season should arrive to the tank in the following week. A couple exciting new additions and even two female sexed bulls.

I had a bottle calf several years ago, that always slept laid out that looked dead... don't know how many times I would nearly have a heart attack thinking it was dead... and never was...

Our first Aberdeen Calf has arrived out of a first calf heifer. A bit chaotic as first calf heifers can be but she shot out a nice little cull calf for us. He's up and doing well but had a challenge with nursing for a bit. Front two teats are huge and pointed at an awkward angle. She hasn't let him nurse the back ones yet even though he's tried. They seem to be what he wants to nurse on vs the front ones. Plan is to steer him and put him in the freezer as a trial.
 
Or bred AI with char... then saw possible heat signs and rebred with a blue a couple days later... make it easy to tell which bull was sire of calf? We did it with some of the cattle over the years... used a totally different breed cleanup bull to make it more obvious which was the actual sire...
