calf with white eyes a day after being born

Amen to that. In my opinion a brood cow has one job to do. Have calves unassited and raise them with out help. They don't do that and they get shipped. Good luck with your calf

I don't have any mares bred this year so I couldn't tell you about mine. But I do know that they can go as long as 14 months to foal and be ok. Good luck!

    Calf milk replacer help!

The calf is doing great, still a little slow. Other than that he is so cute. I'll have to get pictures up. he is up and nursing on his own now. :D The heifer is an awsome mom and very protective. We just kept on milking the heifer and bottling the calf. Calving season is done for me now. The...

    Calf milk replacer help!

Ryder - Nope I don't have that luxury out near the barn. It's hard enough keeping the bottle warm between the house and the barn. Everyone - The calf made it through the night. But he's still not up and about like he should be. Any suggestions for getting him a bit more energy?

    Calf milk replacer help!

My angus cross heifer dropped her calf this morning. The promptly lead it out into the mud where it got stuck and chilled. I wasn't expecting her to calve for at least another month. I didn't have the exact breeding date as I bought her at the auction. So I was at work while all this happened...

Not Collecting For A Long Time?

R ^ 5 - Be nice now. TxCoUnTrYbOy - I don't have much experiance with bulls but I assume that it is the same will all animals that you collect on. Not collecting will not cause any damage. Nor will the bull not "relieving" himself cause any damage. If it does then it is a bad bull with bad...

    Ordering vaccines?

I've done mail order through Valley and I was very happy with it. This big thing is make sure that they always arrive cold. If they are not still cold and the ice packs are more than 50% melted call them and get new ones shipped. They will do you no good if they get warm.

    Lutalyse

Laughs are always good. I haven't have the luxury of sticking myself with something yet but I have covered myself with other various stuff. My pour-on Ivomec seems to really like me. I can't seem to handle it without getting drenched in it. :D

cow walks around with tail up..

why avoid Bute? I wonder... It only can cause aplastic anemia in humans if you eat the meat. And what is aplastic anemia you ask? Aplastic anemia is a rare but extremely serious disorder that results from the unexplained failure of the bone marrow to produce blood cells. That if you have it is...

cow walks around with tail up..

Do not give Bute to this or any other food-producing animal. FDA regulations: For animals, phenylbutazone is currently approved only for oral and injectable use in dogs and horses. Use in horses is limited to use in horses not intended for food. There are currently no approved uses of...

Regumate is what you are thinking about. Regumate is worse in women then men. But all Reproductive drugs should be handled with care by all. I avoid use of them whenever possible. Any oral drugs you should wear glove and with the injectables you should make sure that there is very little...
